For this assignment we had to use colored pencils to recreate pictures of ice-cream and cupcakes. I had enough time to do two. I started off with the cupcake which originally had solid white frosting but I had a hard time creating a vibrant white so I added color highlights to add depth. I did the ice-cream next and worked with color and used different shades to make it look realistic.
For this assignment I chose to use only hatching because I felt very comfortable using it and I feel like it added cohesion throughout.
I used perspective to make my drawing look realistic and draw your eyes to the bowling ball. Texture was important in my project to make the mattresses look realistics and it should look like cloth. Value also was used to make the mattresses look three dimensional and look realistic. And shows where the shadows and light hits Overall I feel really good about what I created because I put a lot of work into in and tried very hard to make it look realistic. If I were to do this again I would try to use more techniques such as a new technique for each mattress to add separation between them. I based my drawing off of the fable "The Princess and the Pea" but I changed the fable to instead of a pea between the mattresses I chose to put a bowling ball. It important to use the concepts we learned in class to make the drawing look realistic and not too dark with shading and to use the right perspective I think the skills I learned I will definitely use to draw things in pen. And also to correctly use the different shading techniques For this assignment we used the different skills we learned in the last blog post. I created all types of textures from wood to scales to hair. I found hair my favorite texture to sketch because it was really easy to make it darker and shade.
For this assignment we had to use the skills we learned about perspective to create a sketch of a Lego tower we built. The drawing had to be in two point perspective and I think I did pretty well besides that I didn't have enough time to draw the figure on the top.
For this assignment the class had to work with value and draw different shapes, a value chart, and a an object that was set up on our table (a tide bottle was on mine). I really enjoined this assignment because I love working with value and sketching objects around me. I think I did a pretty could job, although I'm looking forward to learning how to blend to add even more depth to the drawings.
This project that we did was an assignment where we had to sketch a pair of shoes, a two point perspective city space, my hand, and myself. My favorite one out of the four was the shoe because I think I did the best on it. Something that I want to work on with this class is drawing people because I know very little about the proportions of facial features and how to shade them.
